Nordic Impro Meeting Summer 2010

Årets NIM kommer att vara 8-13 juni på den vackra ön Tjörn strax norr om Göteborg. Vi kommer att vara på Billströmska folkhögskolan där vi har flera danssalar, häng-utrymme, helpension, tjusig natur, stora gräsmattor och 4 km till havet med Bohuslänsk skönhet.

This years NIM will be 8th-13th of June on the beautiful island Tjörn a bit north of Gothenburg, Sweden. We will be at Billströmska folkhögskolan there we have several dance halls, hangout-space, full board and lodging, charming nature, vast lawns and 4 km to the sea with the beauty of the Swedish west-coast Bohuslän.

Vad är NIM?
Nordic Improvisation Meeting (NIM) är ett möte för i första hand kontaktimprovisation men även annan improvisation. Vi har en enkel struktur med öppen planering där vi tillsammans skapar innehållet. Alla deltagare inbjuds att hålla i workshops, study-labs och uppvärmningar, ta med en idé till ett pass som du inte behöver leda själv, spela musik, ta med instrument och musik med mera. Men det viktigaste är att du kommer, dansar och har roligt.

Vad kostar det?
Priset är 1 800 kr.. Då ingår massa mat, huvudsakligen vegetarisk, och sängar i elevrum. För de som bara kan komma över helgen är priset fredag kväll till söndag 1 000 kr. Antal deltagare är begränsat och de som anmäler sig för hela veckan har förtur. De kan också bli aktuellt med plats i sovsal för de som bara stannar över helgen eller anmäler sig sent.

Barn och ungdomar mycket välkomna!
Vi välkomnar barn och ungdomar med stor värme! Vi kommer att ordna ungvänliga jam baserade på intervjuer med barn och unga som varit med och jammat. Barn 0-7 år är med gratis, 7-15 år betalar 500 kr och över 15 år samma pris som vuxna.

Hur anmäler jag mig?
Sista anmälningsdag är 30 april. För att anmäla dig registrerar du dig och betalar avgiften. Vi kan inte garantera dig någon plats innan du har både registrerat dig och betalat.

Om du avbokar din plats senast 21 maj får du tillbaka avgiften minus 500 kr i anmälningsavgift. Om det blir fullt har i första hand deltagare som anmäler sig till hela NIM:et förtur och i andra hand de som anmält sig först.

Hur kommer dagarna att se ut?
NIM börjar tisdag kväll den 8 juni med kvällsmat, öppningscirkel och jam. Sedan dansar vi järnet till söndag eftermiddag den 13 juni. På passen kommer folk att leda workshops, study-labs och uppvärmningar men mest tid går till öppna jam. Det kommer att gå fint att också göra annat än dans, som att bada eller gå runt i naturen.

Dagarna kommer att se ut som följande på grund av bamba(skolmatsals)-personalens arbetstider (tiderna är då mat serveras, vi får sitta kvar och äta längre):
7.45-8.15        Frukost
9-12                Förmiddagspass
12.20-13         Lunch
14-17              Eftermiddagspass
17.15-17.45    Kvällsmat
19-22              Kvällspass
Danssalarna kommer att vara öppna natten igenom och kvällsfika kommer finnas i häng-utrymmet.

Detta kan sökas från 31.03.2010 till 21.04.2010. Chansen att få stipendier har vi hört ska vara god.

What is NIM?
Nordic Improvisation Meeting (NIM) is a meeting for contact improvisation in the first place but also other improvisation. We have a simple structure with open planning where we creates the contents together. Every participator are invited to lead workshops, study-labs and warm-ups, bring an idea to a session that you don´t have lead yourself, play music, bring instruments or MP3:s and so on. Most important however is that you come, dance and have fun.

How much does it cost?
The cost is 1 800 SEK. That includes a lot of food, mainly vegetarian, an beds in pupils rooms. For those who only are able to attend over the week-end the cost for Friday night to Sunday is 1000 SEK. The number of participants is limited and those who apply for the whole week have priority. Those only staying over the week-and or applying late might have to sleep in a dormitory on the floor.

Children and young people are very welcome!
We warmly welcome children and young people. We will arrange youth-friendly jams based on interviews with children and young people who has been jamming. Children 0-7 years attend for free, 7-15 years costs 500 SEK and above 15 years has the same cost as adults.

How do I sign up?
Last day of application is the 30th of April. To apply please use our registration form and pay the fee. We can´t guarantee your attendance before you have both registered and paid.

If you cancel your application latest the 21th of May you get your fee back minus 500 SEK of application-fee. If we are too many applicants we give priority firstly to those who apply for the whole NIM and secondly to those who apply early.

NB! Write name in the message when you pay!
NB 2! We need the your payments in Swedish crowns (SEK) because of fluctuation of the money market and our high fixed costs. So if you pay with other currency check that you pay at least the amount of Swedish crowns that we need.

How will the days look like?
NIM starts Tuesday evening the 8th of June with dinner, opening-circle and jam. Then we dance all in until Sunday afternoon the 13th. In the sessions people will lead workshops, study-labs and warm-ups but most of the time will go to open jams. There is also nice to other things than dancing, as go swimming or walk in the nature.

The days will look like the following because of working hours of the bamba(school meal)-staff (the hours is when food is served, we can stay and eat longer):

The dance halls will be open all night through and evening-fika(Scandinavian snack) will be find in the hangout-area.

The application is open from 31.03.2010 to 21.04.2010. We have heard that the chances to get grant is good.
