NIM 2026 – 30 Year aniversary!

Let’s celebrate this historic event that has supported and gathered contact improvisers from the Scandinavian countries (and beyond) for 30 years!

The first NIM was in autumn 1996 at Årsta Theater and there was 12 people attending. Since then this event has travelled all the Scandinavian countries (except Iceland), taking turns to host this gathering.

NIM is a co-created space where the participants create and offer the content for the schedule. There is no paid teachers – this is a space to share our research and practice through classes, labs, (focus) jams, site specific and more. Here we deepen and have exchanges around contact improvisation. What do you long to investigate and share with the community? NIM is a place to strengthen the Nordic community and network of contact improvisations dancers. People from all over the world is of course welcome!

Double room 3800-4800 SEK.
Single room 4400 – 5400 SEK.

NIM is a self organized event and there is no paid teachers. The price covers food, accommodation, sauna and studios and that the organizers can go to the festival for free. With extra budget we can possibly invite musicians and invest in extra treats for us (nice things for the celebration, grill party and so on)!

We will stay at beautiful Lillsved folk high school (folkhögskola) in the archipelagos one hour outside of Stockholm. https://lillsved.se/ You will sleep in double or single rooms. The schools is beautifully situated by the sea with forest and cliffs around. It is very easy to take the ferry from Lillsved to any of the nearby islands – in case we want to make an dance excursion. The main dance hall has beautiful wooden floor, high ceiling and a view towards the bay – it is an amazing space. You can easily get here with public transport from Stockholm city.
