NIM 2014 in Finland

28.7 – 1.8, Voionmaa Institute, Finland

Welcome to the Nordic Impro Meeting 2014!

The event will take place at the beautifully situated Voionmaa Institute near Tampere, Finland. This place is surrounded by forests and a lake. We will have access to 4 dance spaces, a dining room, large grassy outdoor areas and a sauna.

The concept of NIM is founded on co-creation. We as participants set the schedule together, day by day. How would you like to contribute in creating this NIM? How do you wish to practise Contact improvisation? Maybe you will bring a musical instrument or your paints and brushes, lead a workshop, hold a space for bodywork, or something completely different…

Price

The price of the event is 170 €, of which 70 € is paid during registration and 100 € on arrival. The registration fee 70 € is not refundable. If you have paid the whole sum during registration, but decide to cancel your participation by 31.5.2014, you will be refunded 100 €.

The festival fee includes all the offered workshops, a full access to dance spaces and common spaces, sauna on at least one evening, food (breakfast, lunch, dinner and an evening snack) and lodging in 2 or 4 person rooms.

If you want to bring children, you are very welcome, but note that there is no special arrangement or program for children. Parents are of course free to organize something by themselves. The price for children of age 3-7 is 80 €, under 3 year olds are free of charge.

You need to bring your own lining/sleeping bag and a towel. Beds and mattresses are provided by the institute. By paying 10 € you can rent lining and a towel at the event.

Getting there

The train and bus connections to Tampere can be found at www.vr.fi (trains) and www.matkahuolto.fi/en/ (buses). There are direct bus connections from the Tampere Pirkkala airport to the Tampere central railway station (Rautatienkatu 25) (bus-schedules) and from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to the Tampere bus station (Hatanpään valtatie 5-7) (matkahuolto).

We have organized a special bus connection from the Tampere bus station (Hatanpään valtatie 5-7) to the Voionmaa Institute on Monday (14:00 o’clock) and back on Friday (13:00 o’clock). The ride costs 5 € per direction. You can book a seat in the registration form for either direction. For the ride back you can also book a seat during the festival. There is also a normal bus connection (Länsilinjat bus number 85) from Tampere to the Voionmaa Institute (Opistontie 35, Ylöjärvi) (trip planner). The ride takes 45 by bus, 30 minutes if you come by own car.

Registration

You will be registered as soon as you have filled out the registration form AND paid the registration fee 70 € (or the whole amount 170 €). Last day for registration will be July 6th OR when the event is full and we close registration. We can host around 100 participants, so register as soon as you can!
